Seeking medical treatment in a foreign land, patients often feel uneasy due to the language barrier. However, Sara (a pseudonym) from Bangladesh has received an abundance of warmth and reassurance during her medical treatment experience in Changsha, China. On March 13th, in the Second Ward of the Spinal Surgery Department of Changsha Central Hospital, Sara, who was about to be discharged from the hospital, happily took photos with the medical staff and left a thank-you letter full of gratitude, putting a warm end to this transnational doctor-patient relationship.
41岁的Sara此次来中国，是为了探望远嫁长沙的女儿。但探亲期间，她的腰痛旧疾突然加重，简单的走路、弯腰动作都成了奢望，服用止痛药也毫无效果。家人心急如焚，赶忙将她送往长沙市中心医院。
Sara, 41 years old, came to China this time to visit her daughter who had married far away in Changsha. But during the visit, her old lower back pain problem suddenly worsened. Simple actions like walking and bending over became impossible, and taking painkillers had no effect at all. Her family members were extremely worried and quickly sent her to Changsha Central Hospital.
入院后的Sara，面对陌生环境和语言障碍，内心充满了担忧与无助。医师曾浩敏锐地察觉到了她的顾虑，当即掏出手机，借助翻译软件与Sara耐心沟通。他温柔地安慰Sara，承诺医护团队会全力以赴，帮助她缓解疼痛、早日康复。这一番贴心的交流，让Sara悬着的心稍稍放下。
After being admitted to the hospital, facing the unfamiliar environment and language barrier, Sara was filled with worry and helplessness. Doctor Zeng Hao keenly noticed her concerns and immediately took out his mobile phone, with the help of a translation app, to communicate patiently with Sara. He gently comforted Sara and promised that the medical team would go all out to help her relieve the pain and recover soon. This heartfelt communication put Sara's mind at ease a little bit.
在治疗期间，长沙市中心医院的医护人员不仅为Sara制定了科学细致的诊疗方案，更在生活中给予她无微不至的关怀。主治医生罗琦山每日查房时，都会仔细询问Sara的病情变化和症状改善情况，不放过任何一个细节；护士长许湘红带领护士团队，时常关心Sara的生活状况，嘘寒问暖，及时了解并解决她生活中的困难，让Sara在异国他乡也能感受到家一般的温暖。这份关怀，Sara和家属都看在眼里，感动在心里。
During the treatment period, the medical staff of Changsha Central Hospital not only formulated a scientific and meticulous diagnosis and treatment plan for Sara but also provided her with meticulous care in her daily life. Every day during the ward round, the attending doctor Luo Qishan would carefully inquire about the changes in Sara's condition and the improvement of her symptoms, not missing any detail. Head nurse Xu Xianghong and her nursing team often showed concern for Sara's living conditions, asked about her well-being, and solved the difficulties in her life, making Sara feel the warmth of home even in a foreign country. Sara and her family members saw this care and were deeply touched.
经过3天的精心保守治疗，Sara的疼痛症状得到了明显缓解，她也达到了出院标准。出院之际，责任护士陈吉莉为Sara准备了详细的健康宣教单，细心叮嘱她按时复查的注意事项，为她后续的康复之路保驾护航。
After three days of careful conservative treatment, Sara's pain symptoms were significantly relieved, and she met the discharge criteria. When she was about to be discharged, the responsible nurse Chen Jili prepared a detailed health education leaflet for Sara and carefully reminded her of the precautions for the follow-up reexamination, safeguarding her subsequent recovery journey.
